This clinic has been designed to focus on specific issues most horse owners are faced with. Whether it is trailer loading, standing for the farrier, deworming, bridling, mounting, etc you will receive teaching on what areas to focus on to make your horse a more willing participant in basic everyday necessities.

Clinic's Offered
Details and Descriptions
*All clinics are offered over 2 or 3 days
*Clinic format is dependent on number of participants, size of location, and topic of clinic.
Groundwork for All Levels of Equines & Their Handlers
This clinic focuses on using halter work techniques to achieve a soft neck and body as well as correct footwork that will help ensure a safe and enjoyable ride. A round pen is available for all horsemanship clinics to build confidence in both the equine and the handler, which progresses directly to the saddle.
Focusing on Mule / Horsemanship creates a deeper connection between horse and rider. By understanding the way a equine thinks we make this connection more solid and more dependable which builds safety.
* Maximum 8 participants per clinic
Riding 1, 2, & 3 Clinics
Although it is not a requirement, we suggest taking a horsemanship clinic prior to this class. You will need a horse that is at any stage of saddle broke.
Riding clinics will focus on ensuring a safe and enjoyable ride while maintaining a soft neck and body, and correct footwork.
Riders in Riding 1 will be taught safe mounting, bending, one-rein stops, and safety and control with outside influences.
For the riders and horses/mules in clinics 2 and 3: effective control such as stand still, front quarter & hind quarter control, back-up, walk ahead, walk, trot, and lope, all of which continue to build confidence and control while keeping a soft feel.
*Maximum 12 participants per clinic
Round Penning Clinics
Although we often pair round penning with halter work, this clinic is designed to focus on ‘at liberty’ within the round pen. You will learn and begin to master techniques that will help you communicate with your equine through body language and increase your awareness. This clinic will cover how to achieve an inside turn, the importance of an outside turn, as well as gait changes while maintaining a soft neck and body.
If you have issues with catching, trailering, saddling, standing for the farrier, mounting/dismounting, riding between or around obstacles, this is the clinic for your horse or mule!
*Maximum participants dependent on location
Ranch Horse Clinics
In our Ranch Horse clinics, we focus on drills and exercises that will effectively progress your horse through the stages of becoming a bridle horse. This is a highly focused class designed for those who want to excel at precise maneuvers such as opening gates, moving and sorting cattle, stops, starts, spins, proper collection to instill the highest level of softness, lead departures, and much more!
*Maximum 12 participants per clinic
Driving Clinics
Driving clinics are broke into 2 separate clinics:
1. Prepping to Hitch and
2. Ready to Hitch.
Prepping to Hitch: (REQUIRED to progress to the 'Ready to Hitch' Clinic)
This clinic is the starting ground for all who are interested in driving single or as a team. Focusing on hindquarter rolls, safety while in their blind spot, managing lines, and learning to drag a tire or log, are all necessary steps to ensure safety when driving. Once these maneuvers are solid for all horses or mules and their handler, then they can progress to the next clinic.
Ready to Hitch:
Once you have completed 'Prepping to Hitch' and both you and your equine are confident in the necessary groundwork to being safe while driving, you're ready to hitch!
In this clinic, as in all of our clinics, safety is of the utmost importance. You will learn careful hitching and unhitching practices, how to navigate obstacles while driving, learn to plan ahead to avoid mishaps, and above all, prevent runaways.
*Maximum 4 participants per clinic
*Singles or teams welcome in both clinics
Specialty Clinics
Packing ~ Obstacles
These clinics focus on packing skills needed for the back country and navigating obstacles with your horse or mule. Please let us know if this interests you and when we have enough individuals interested we will run the clinic
Packing:
Our packing clinics are geared for those who are interested in packing into the mountains for either a day excursion or a longer adventure. We will focus on getting your animals prepared to be packed, safely throwing packs and diamonds hitches, how to balance your load, and more!
**You will need a solid riding mule or horse and 1-4 packing animal**
Obstacles:
Obstacle classes can be done in a 1-day event or full 2-day clinic format. These clinics focus on managing the mind to feet connection to ensure your equine goes exactly where you want.
**Although it is not required, it is suggested to participants to attend a mule/ horsemanship clinic either prior to or in-leu of an obstacle clinic**
*Packing Clinic= Maximum 6 participants per clinic
*Obstacle Clinic= Maximum 8 participants per clinic
